Many companies come to
me and ask how they can get into the "Quinceañera
Market ". I always tell them at it is not only about
the know, but the knowledge...to actually see one.
I spoke with a shop owner from
Colorado; she was African American and had sold a
Quinceañera
gown two weeks before. She shared that she didn't
know anything about this celebration, but wanted to
know more. I emphasized about having the knowledge,
and what it could do for her business. What do you
think the girl, planning the Quinceañera
would of thought if the store owner asked her
if she had written her Prayer of Thanksgiving ? I
know for sure that the young girl and her family
would have been impressed. Yes, it is about sales,
but not all about the sale. Families planning these
events spend thousands of dollars, however, look at
budgets very closely. For instance with the tuxedo;
the cost of the tuxedo can be expensive, especially
since most courts consist of Fifteen guys. Some
tuxedo stores give a couple of tuxedos, like a
discount or a package deal. A new trend is that
Quinceañera
girls are cutting down the court to Seven guys and
girls. Some tuxedo shops are also carrying dama
dresses.
Catering to these families takes
some research. I tell a lot of clients to get
invited to one. They need to get the feel of what it is
about. You have to attend the whole ceremony to
understand this rich, traditional and fun event!
